Most pet probiotics on the market are human strains, never adapted to the metabolic, immune, or thermal environment of dogs. They’re not designed to survive the journey through a carnivore’s GI tract and accomplish a specific purpose. And many lack evidence of efficacy in the species they’re sold for.
Sprinkle the recommended amount directly onto food or a snack once daily.
For dogs with sensitive stomachs, start with half the suggested dose for the first few days and gradually increase to a full dose.
If using during antibiotic therapy, give the probiotic at least 4 hours before or after antibiotics to help protect beneficial bacteria. (based on 1 Billion CFU per 1.5 g serving)
